Quick exit (the button top-right, or the Escape key on a computer) instantly replaces this website with a Google weather search and removes this page from your back button.

Its limits, honestly: your browser's history and address-bar suggestions may still show earlier visits, and no website can prevent that. For the most protection, visit us in a private/incognito window, or clear your history after visiting. On a monitored device, consider using a library, work, or trusted friend's device instead.

Use the safest device available to you — that may not be your own. The web version leaves no app on your device. If you suspect monitoring software, a public library computer or a trusted person's device is safer for signing up. Advocates at local services can also help you check a device.

No. Persephone is a documentation platform, not an emergency response or counseling service, and nothing here is monitored in real time. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number. If you want to talk to someone, local advocacy services and national hotlines exist for exactly that — and many of our partner organizations can connect you.

You. That's the list. No human at Persephone can read your entries — not support, not engineers, not the founder. Entries are encrypted in transit and at rest, and they leave the platform only when you export or share them. The full detail is in our privacy policy, written in plain language on purpose.

Nothing about you. Organizations receive anonymized totals only — like how many of their seats are active — never names, never content. An individual who sponsored a seat receives nothing at all; they will never know who used their gift.

The app asks whether you authorize AI to be aware of your entries. If you say no, it isn't — full stop. If you say yes, AI can privately help you understand your own file: patterns, context, and suggested next steps, shown only to you, inside the platform. You can withdraw consent anytime in settings, and AI insight about your file is never shared with anyone or used for anything else.

Yes. Deleting an entry or your account removes it from our systems — the timeline is described in the privacy policy. Your data is yours, including the right to make it gone.

We scrutinize every legal request, resist overbroad ones, can only produce what we actually hold, and will notify you before producing your data unless the law prohibits us from doing so. Details are in the privacy policy.

Text entries and attachments of every file type — photos, screenshots, voice memos, documents, videos. Entries are timestamped the moment they're created. Pro adds automatic transcription of audio, language translation, and tagging so your file stays organized as it grows.

One or two contacts you trust, designated inside the app as part of your safety plan. Here's the important part: they are told nothing and can see nothing unless you choose to share your file with them. Naming a safe person is a plan, not a disclosure.

Your file can leave Persephone three ways, all on your command: a PDF export (chronological and timestamped, ready for an attorney), a certified hardcopy (for counsel and court workflows), or an SOS file delivered directly to police. You choose what, when, and to whom — every time.

Because records can't be created backwards. If a day comes when you need protection, custody standing, or a case, the difference between a story and a timestamped, chronological file is enormous — and that file can only exist if it started earlier. Documenting commits you to nothing. It just keeps your options real.
